The Devil's Angel by Kevin Brooks

Reading Activists at Gateshead Central Library took part in a competition set by the Reading Agency all about what friendship means to them. They were lucky enough to win the competition and you can see an article about their entry on the Reading Agency website. The group won a set of 15 copies of Kevin Brooks latest novel ’The Devil’s Angel’, out early next year, and have written and produced some reviews of the book.

Gabby, 15 said: "The Devil’s Angel is small, but I believe it is hard-hitting and really shows the intense relationship between the two boys. It is an awesome book which I thoroughly enjoyed and would gladly read it again".

Annalise, 14 said: "This book was gritty, raw and dynamic. The intensity of the relationship between Jack and Dean was moving and the description was really vivid. I read it in a day and loved it."

They also put together some ’six-word reviews’ with pictures to illustrate what they thought of the novel, which you can also find on their Facebook page.
